Tips

Don't assume a place word takes en just because it names a location: land (country) is neuter while plads (place) is common, so learn each noun together with its gender rather than adding it later.
Watch for near-synonyms with different shades of meaning: sted and plads are both glossed as 'place', but plads also covers open spaces such as a parkeringsplads (the parking lot), so notice which one each example sentence uses.
